Press Release Body: ABAS - side by side with users
In the opening speech, Werner Strub, chairman of the board (CEO), emphasized that
the abas Business Software will continue to be developed along with customer
requirements. \"Processes in companies are rapidly changing, innovation cycles of
products are becoming shorter, globalization has reached medium-sized businesses and
an increasing worldwide network via the Internet provides many options,\" says Strub.
For ABAS it is important to represent this rapid change in process and organization
structures of the company permanently in the software. Thus, the satisfaction of the
users with the system can be ensured in the long run and be further developed. The
substantial economic development of the ABAS Software AG and the financial
independence are the foundation for this.

Technologically equipped for the future
Peter Walser, new member of the management board and CTO since July of this year,
pointed out that ABAS will initially test each new technology for customer use.
Longevity, flexibility and technology on a \"Level of productivity\" are essential in
the further development of the abas Business Software. The new abas CTO highlights
the meaning of this using the example of the much discussed \"service-oriented
software architecture\" SOA. The expected advantages of SOA, such as flexibility,
adaptability and openness have always been a part of the abas Business Software -
thanks to its architecture with a fixed kernel, many interfaces and flexible
programming options in the interface. A service-oriented restructuring of the
software would only yield little customer benefit. According to Peter Walser, an ERP
system is typically a provider or consumer of services. The abas Business Software
already provides the option to consume or provide Web services which enables an
interface to other systems. This option, to operate the abas Business Software in a
service-oriented environment, increases the openness and yields customer benefit.
\"Our job is to find our way between being up-to-date and sustainability together
with you,\" emphasises the chief technical officer at the Customer Forum.

The road to a worldwide presence
Chief Operating Officer (COO) Peter Forscht, who significantly contributed to the
fact that ABAS is already represented in 27 countries, sees a large growth potential
for ABAS abroad. Ten years ago there was the first customer request for a foreign
installation. Nowadays ABAS has an international project management which has proven
itself in numerous projects. Forscht emphasized that the international network is
working really well by means of specific cross-national ERP projects of the
companies, Weinig, Thyssen-Krupp Hoesch and Seal-Jet.

Guest speaker Dr. Markus Merk
Valuable tips on the topic \"Making the right decision\" were provided to the abas
customers by the guest speaker Dr. Markus Merk, DFB and FIFA referee. Merk is a five
time winner of the German Referee of the Year Award and was awarded the World
Referee of the Year Award in 2004 and 2005. At the Customer Forum he provided
entertaining practical information about the cause and effect in decisions.
